Friends of Lory State Park (FoLSP) is a non-profit organization founded in 2012, composed entirely of volunteers. We are dedicated to promoting community stewardship of Park natural areas, resources, and wildlife. Membership is open to all and we welcome volunteers for projects and events.
Join us on Saturday, December 14 for the annual Holiday Open House!
Sponsored by Friends of Lory, the Open House will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and features activities, refreshments and fun. Parks mascot Talon will greet youngsters (bring your cameras!) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Friends of Lory are offering a drawing to win a free annual Parks pass (valued at $70).
Additional activities include:
–Making a winter treat for the birds between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. (supplies provided)
–Children’s story times at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
–Shopping for apparel, hiking sticks, books/ maps and plush animals at the Lory Visitor Center
The Holiday Open House at the Visitor Center is free, however a valid annual or day pass is required to enter the Park.
Friends of Lory State Park is dedicated to the protection, preservation, and enhancement of the Park. The Friends group serves as a supportive entity to complement the goals of Lory State Park.
Friends of Lory State Park provides volunteer assistance to the management of Lory State Park. In this capacity, the Friends group works to foster stewardship, enhance educational and recreational opportunities in partnership with the Park, and advocates quality programs for visitors of all ages.
