Why Join?

Lory State Park (LSP) hosts over 80,000 visitors each year with a small staff of full & part-time personnel. Lory State Park, like all Colorado State Parks, has been “enterprised” and since 2011, no longer receives General Funds (money from state income and sales taxes). Each park must operate like a business to fund programs and operations. Friends of Lory members can help bridge the gap at Lory State Park through memberships, donations, and volunteer support. Join us and be part of our efforts to sustain and support this extraordinary resource. Ongoing activities include:

  • Promote programs & education about urban/wildland interface and preservation of Lory State Park
  • Help the Park reach short & long term goals
  • Advocate the Park and its use for all seasons
  • Offer volunteer support for special events and fundraisers
